Which Luxury 3-Row SUVs Have LATCH in the Third Row?

Lower anchors, top tethers, curtain-airbag coverage and seatbelt reminders for the third row of every model in the directory. These are hardware facts taken from owner's manuals, manufacturer material and child-passenger-safety inspections — not ratings.

What the table says

7 of the 13 models carry two sets of third-row lower anchors: Lincoln Navigator, Audi Q7, BMW X7, Land Rover Range Rover, Lexus TX, Lincoln Aviator and Rivian R1S. Those are the vehicles where two child seats can be installed in the third row using the anchors rather than the seat belt.

Infiniti QX80 publishes a single third-row lower-anchor set. Sources agree on the count and disagree on which seat it serves, so the position is recorded as disputed rather than resolved.

Cadillac Escalade, Acura MDX, Genesis GV80, Volvo XC90 and Mercedes-Benz GLS have no third-row lower anchors at all. That is not a fault — a child seat can still be installed with the seat belt where the manual permits it — but it does mean the anchors are not an option back there.

Genesis GV80 and Volvo XC90 additionally have no third-row top tether positions. A forward-facing child seat needs a top tether, so on those models the third row is not a place to put one.

Rivian R1S is the exception on curtain coverage: its owner documentation lists roof-rail airbags for the first and second rows only, so the curtain does not extend to the third row.

Third-row curtain coverage is unverified for BMW X7 and Land Rover Range Rover, because no manufacturer source we could reach states it either way. Those cells read needs verification rather than being filled in.

A third-row seatbelt reminder is confirmed on Lincoln Navigator and Volvo XC90. Elsewhere it is either absent or not stated in the documentation we could verify.

Configurations change these numbers. Several models publish different hardware for different seat counts or bodies, and each model page records which configuration its figures describe. Check the owner's manual for your exact vehicle and sit in it with your own car seat before buying.

Why no ratings

No U.S. crash-test programme instruments third-row occupants, so a vehicle-level crash rating says nothing third-row-specific. That is why this guide publishes hardware facts and citations instead. Read the methodology →
